I am South African and currently working in Singapore, but before that I spent a year in Antwerp. I have an offer from a company in Rotterdam. Does the Antwerp year affect my eligibility for the 30% ruling?
The rule looks at the 24 months before your first working day in the Netherlands. You must have lived more than 150 km from the Dutch border for more than 16 of those months. If your Antwerp year ended more than eight months before you start in Rotterdam, and you were in Singapore the rest of the time, you should still meet the 16 month condition. If not, you may fail the test. Ask your new employer's payroll team to check your dates before you sign.
